Nora is a capable learner whose main area for development is flexibility when working with peers, as her communication can sometimes come across as bossy in group settings. She completes classwork and homework on time, meets task requirements, and asks questions that help her understand her work. Nora takes initiative in daily routines, often organizing materials, helping set up the classroom, and reminding others of expectations. Our focus moving forward is helping her balance leadership with listening to others’ ideas and sharing control during group work.

Achievements
  • Sat quietly and respectfully on the carpet during lessons and rehearsal performances without needing reminders about behaviour.

From November through January, Nora has become more independent in how she cares for the classroom. Early in the year, she was able to sit quietly on the carpet without reminders. Over time, she began taking more responsibility for shared spaces. She now pushes in chairs that are not hers, tidies her table basket, and reminds classmates to keep materials organized. These actions show growing responsibility and awareness of others.

In November, Nora began developing research skills by using textbooks and online resources with support. Over the months, her progress is visible in how she asks questions, selects information, and starts to paraphrase what she reads instead of copying it. She can recall and define information and make simple comparisons when exploring a topic. This reflects steady development in how she works with information.

Social Studies
Nora is in the growth stage of moving from copying facts to sharing ideas in her own words during research. We are supporting this development by modeling paraphrasing with a teacher-created note-taking sheet and practicing short summaries using textbooks and approved online resources.

Sharing Ideas
Nora is engaged and comfortable speaking in English with adults and peers, and our next step is helping her share her thinking more often in group settings. We are using small-group turn-taking routines and a simple discussion checklist so she can track when she has added an idea.

Leading Learning
Nora shows progress as a confident learner who completes work on time, and we are beginning to build her leadership skills within class activities. We are giving her rotating roles during collaborative research tasks, such as timekeeper or question reader, to support this development.

Looking Ahead

Nora often steps up to help others and take responsibility in the classroom. She has taken the lead in small-group tasks, helped groups finish their work, and regularly arrives early to organize materials. During library time, she stays focused even when the room is noisy and uses feedback to make changes to her work.

Nora will continue working on leading with clear communication and calmer responses when working with peers. With support, she can practice listening to others’ ideas, sharing control in group tasks, and using her strong academic skills in a way that supports the whole group.

These students never need reminding on how to behave, follow the school rules, follow the class rules, share things. They always get along, always work well with anyone in the class.

These students are able to hand out workbooks to students without talking and disrupting the class. They are able to do this quickly and they are also able to follow other instructions such as the handing out of stationery, handing out of worksheets etc.

These students are all able to work collaboratively with anyone in the class or anyone in the school. They always work respectfully, they share items, share resources, share ideas and enjoy working as part of small groups or large groups. Even when working with adults they show positive cooperation and they all show responsibility and give each other a role to play within that group.

This student is still developing her ability to work and be flexible when working with others, sometimes too bossy. She is considerate of others, her communication is sometimes too assertive. These students are way ahead knowledge-wise than the others. In science they are able to complete extended challenges beyond that of their peers. They do not require much adult support, they're not very needy in comparison to the rest of the class.
